Nyandarua National Polytechnic, in partnership with Egerton University, the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA), and the Nyandarua County Government, conducted a community outreach initiative at Mawingu, Olkalou, where farmers were sensitized on smart agricultural practices, climate change adaptation, and sustainable agriculture, with an emphasis on environmentally friendly methods that promote long-term productivity.
They were also encouraged to adopt renewable energy solutions such as solar power. Nyandarua National Polytechnic trainees played a leading role by guiding farmers on the use of organic fertilizers and crop rotation to enhance yields while maintaining soil health and supporting sustainable farming systems.
In addition, our trainees who have been in the United Kingdom shared their experiences, highlighting modern farming techniques and the importance of advancing agricultural practices to improve productivity and competitiveness.
