Nyandarua National Polytechnic to Install Electric Vehicle Charging Stations

Nyandarua National Polytechnic is set to establish Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations, supported by the Ujima Foundation and the Schneider Electric Foundation. The initiative will not only equip Automotive Engineering trainees with practical knowledge in EV charging infrastructure but will also provide charging services to the public.

According to Mr. Samson Kiambi, Head of the Mechanical and Automotive Engineering Department, this development marks a significant milestone in embracing modern automotive technologies and promoting sustainable mobility. He also noted that the department offers training in Mechanical Engineering Production and Agricultural Engineering.

Mr. Kiambi further highlighted that some Agricultural Engineering trainees have had the opportunity to travel to the United Kingdom, where they advanced their skills in handling and maintaining agricultural machinery — a step that strengthens the institution’s international exposure and practical competence.
