Welcome to the Hospitality & Tourism Management Department

The Hospitality and Tourism Management Department at Nyandarua National Polytechnic trains skilled, professional, and industry-ready graduates who can excel in the fast-growing hospitality and tourism industry. The department provides quality training that combines theory with practical experience to ensure that trainees acquire the knowledge, skills, and attitudes required to work in hotels, restaurants, tour companies, airlines, event management firms, and other service industries.

Our training focuses on hands-on learning in areas such as food and beverage production, food service, housekeeping, front office operations, customer care, tour guiding, travel operations, and event management. Through well-equipped kitchens, training restaurants, and practical sessions, trainees gain real-world experience that prepares them to meet the standards of the modern hospitality industry.

The department also emphasizes professionalism, communication skills, teamwork, and creativity, which are essential qualities for success in hospitality and tourism careers. Trainees are exposed to industrial attachment opportunities where they gain experience in hotels, lodges, restaurants, and tourism organizations, allowing them to interact with real work environments before graduation.

Graduates from the Hospitality and Tourism Management Department can work as chefs, hotel attendants, tour guides, travel consultants, restaurant supervisors, event planners, and customer service professionals, or even start their own businesses in the hospitality sector.
